The August School library has been reestablished after two and a half years of closure.  School and district staff along with many volunteers has reorganized the school’s library and computer lab.  The volunteers included retired August School principal, Becky Potten.  The Stockton Pacific Rotary donated many books to be added to the children's library.  SUSD Board member, Sara Cazares donated time and books to the library.  Many August teachers donated their own time to the  reorganization of the library and computer lab.  Thanks to the many volunteers August students will once again have access to quality literature at their reading level through the use of weekly check-out of library books and Accelerated Reader. 

The grand reopening ceremony was held in the August School Library on December 14th at 10 a.m.  District and school personnel attended along with members of the Stockton Pacific Rotary, retired teachers Pat Espalin and Lew Turner, retired principal, Becky Potten, and SUSD Board Member, Sara Cazares.  The August School Student Council was also present during the reopening ceremonies.

Students will begin checking out books the second week of January thanks to the efforts of the community, district, and school staff!
